2011, the year of Hudson River Records

Posted on June 1, 2011 by AdirondacRafting

So far, 2011 has blown away all the old records for high river levels.

We saw the record crest in late April at 13.52 ft ( 40,000 CFS ) Yikes !

We have been running solid Class IV + all through May and even into early June, we are being spoiled rotten this year and we love it.

Anyway, the reservoir is way over full which means we will have outstanding dam releases all summer long !!

Here we go ! Season Begins this Saturday

Let the fun begin, we’ve got a hearty group of paddlers to start the season with ideal BIG RIVER levels. The mountain snowpack is heading through the Hudson Gorge. This is the most snow we have seen in a long time up high. We can ski one day and raft the next, the best of both seasons.

BIG Water

Posted on October 5, 2010 by AdirondacRafting

We finally got a taste of the BIG springlike water with Tropical Storm Nicole. The river went to 8.2 Feet and we had a blast. It is a treat when the river goes big in the fall !! That’s right, this is Elephant Rock and when it is almost under water there is going to be excitement in the Gorge.
