HUDSON RIVER GORGE
The Hudson River Gorge is 17 miles of white water through beautiful Adirondack wilderness scenery. This river is a full day of fun rated as one of the top trips in the Eastern United States.
During the spring run off, mountain snows melt into this roaring gorge and provide white water rafters with wild Class III, IV and V rapids. This river is well known for its unusually long continuous white water
sections. Enjoy the thrill of running famous rapids such as Blue Ledges, Mile Long, and Big Nasty.
Summer in the Hudson River Gorge is the ideal time to experience this wilderness Class III river in the warm months. When rafting the Hudson River Gorge your day begins at 9:30 AM at our river base in Indian Lake. We then provide all gear necessary for your white water trip.
After a 5 minute ride to the outfitter's put-in site on the river, your rafting adventure is about to begin. After a brief explanation of your trip and some general safety information youll hop into one of our state of the art self bailing Maravia rafts. Once on the river you and your fellow paddlers (with the assistance of our experienced guides) begin your descent down the Indian River.
After 3 miles of exhilarating Class III white water you enter the confluence with the Hudson River.
Now on the Hudson you begin to feel the power of this big river as it begins to pull your raft toward the steep cliffs of the gorge.
This is where we take our break and provide rafting guest with our river side lunch and a chance to relax and enjoy the remote gorge.
After our lunch break we begin the faster more challenging rapids. During the months of April and May this section often turns into Class IV & V white water, summer months provide us with entertaining Class III rapids. You barely have time to relax as you encounter one great set of rapids after another.
As you near the end of your rafting trip this great river widens and allows us a relaxing float down to our take out area in North River. We then provide transportation back to Indian Lake where your rafting adventure began 4 to 5 hours earlier.
At Adirondac Rafting Co. we take great pride in our high quality rafting trips. We have assembled a group of the most experienced guides and provide the highest quality equipment available.
Trip size is limited to ensure a high quality and safe experience for all of
our rafting guests. This also enables us the opportunity to focus on your individual or group request.
